Definition: The physiologic wearing of the teeth.  Also known as bruxism or grinding of the teeth.

Radiographic Features:

Location: Incisal and occlusal surfaces.

Edge: Well-defined.

Shape: A flat occlusal plane with reduced height of the crowns of the teeth.

Internal: Radiolucent on incisal/occlusal surfaces instead of radiopacity of enamel as it’s been worn away.

Other: None.

Number: Frequently effects all anterior teeth or all teeth in the oral cavity.
